Property Management Wellard - Perth - Suburb Profile
Wellard is a rapidly developing residential area, with substantial rural areas.

Wellard is bounded by Wellard Road, Bertram Road and Mortimer Road in the north, Casuarina Road and Banksia Road in the east, Duckpond Road, the railway line, Telephone Lane and Millar Road West in the south, and a track from the Tailing Ponds north through Leda Nature Reserve to Runnymede Gate and the suburb of Leda in the west.

Wellard is named after John Wellard, an early settler in the wider area.

Settlement of the area dates from the mid 1800s, with land used mainly for farming.

A townsite was declared in 1923, but did not develop.

Significant residential development did not occur until the 1990s.

Rapid growth took place during the early 1990s, with growth continuing at a slower rate from the mid 1990s, a result of new dwellings being added to the area.

The population is expected to continue to increase, particularly from The Village at Wellard estate.

Major features of the area include Eton Green, Wellard Park, Bollard Bulrush Swamp, the Wellard railway station and two schools.
