Trigg is bounded by Lynn Street and Williamson Street in the north, Marmion Avenue, West Coast Highway and Elliott Road in the east, Pearl Parade and the West Coast Highway in the south and the Indian Ocean in the west.
Trigg is named after Henry Trigg, Superintendent of Public Works for the Swan River Colony.
Settlement of the area dates from 1877 when the first land grants were made.
Growth was minimal until the late 1800s.
Significant development occurred during the post-war years.
The population declined slightly during the 1990s, then increased marginally between 2001 and 2006.
Major features of the area include Trigg Bushland Reserve, South Trigg Beach and Lynn Street Shopping Centre.
