Landsdale is bounded by Ocean Reef Road and Gnangara Road in the north, a north-south alignment to the east of Alexander Drive in the east, Hepburn Avenue in the south and the proposed Mirrabooka Avenue extension, Madeley Street, Furniss Road, Cowle Street, Gnangara Road and Sydney Road in the west.
Landsdale is named after Landsdale Road.
Settlement of the area dates from the early 1900s, with land used mainly for farming.
Population was minimal until the 1950s.
Significant development did not occur until the 1980s.
Rapid growth took place from the early 1990s, with the population increasing five-fold between 1996 and 2006, a result of new dwellings being added to the area.
Major features of the area include Perth International Telecommunication Centre, Landsdale Forum Shopping Centre, Snake Swamp, Alexander Park, Broadview Park, Kingsview Park, Warradale Park and two schools.
