Huntingdale is bounded by Corfield Street in the north, the Southern River in the east, Southern River Road, Holmes Street and the suburb of Southern River in the south, and Warton Road in the west.
Huntingdale was a promotional name used by developers for the area in the 1970s.
Development of the area dates primarily from the 1970s.
Rapid growth took place through to the late 1990s.
Most of the growth in the 1990s was in the southern section. Growth slowed considerably between 2001 and 2006, a result of some new dwellings being added to the area, but a decline in the average number of persons living in each dwelling.
Major features of the area include Sutherlands Park, Charles Hook Park, Armstrong Park and one school.
