Property Management Gooseberry Hill - Perth - Suburb Profile
Gooseberry Hill is a residential and parkland area.

Gooseberry Hill is bounded by the City of Swan, the Shire of Mundaring, the northern boundary of Gooseberry Hill National Park and Helena Valley Road in the north, the locality of Piesse Brook in the east, the suburb of Kalamunda and Kalamunda Road in the south, and Watsonia Road and Sadler Drive in the west.

Gooseberry Hill is named after the hill, which was thought to be named for the cape gooseberries which grew in the area in the late 1800s.

Settlement of the area dates from the 1860s, with land used mainly for grazing.

Population was minimal until the early 1900s.

Significant development did not occur until the post-war years, with rapid growth during the 1960s and 1970s.

The population fluctuated slightly during the 1990s, and then declined slightly between 2001 and 2006, a result of few new dwellings being added to the area and a decline in the average number of persons living in each dwelling.

Major features of the area include Gooseberry Hill National Park, Darling Range Regional Park, Gooseberry Hill Hall, Huntley Nature Reserve, Quenda Creek Nature Reserve and two schools.
