Property Management Glendalough - Perth - Suburb Profile
Glendalough is an established residential area.

Glendalough is bounded by Parkland Road, Harborne Street, Pollard Street and a line running between Pollard Street and the Mitchell Freeway in the north, the Mitchell Freeway in the east, Powis Street, Jon Sanders Drive and Herdsman Parade in the south and a line running between the swamp and Jon Sanders Drive and Jon Sanders Drive in the west.

Part of the suburb of Glendalough is located in the Town of Vincent, following a boundary change in July 2007.

Glendalough is named from the Irish town meaning “valley of the two lakes” established by St Kevin in the 7th Century.

Settlement of the area dates from 1837 when the first land grant was made.

Land was used mainly for market gardening.

Growth was minimal until the 1880s.

Significant development occurred from 1949, aided by the construction of public housing.

The population has increased slightly since the early 1990s, a result of new dwellings being added to the area and relative stability in average household size.

Major features of the area include Glendalough Open Space, Little Sisters of the Poor and one school.
