History:
Bellbowrie is a newer suburb of the Brisbane district. Originally a 2000 lot estate, the area has grown to include a sizeable amount of land and amenities. The name is believed to originate from Aboriginal language, and is thought to mean a “place of flowering gums.” Bellbowrie initially started as a boundary suburb of the Brisbane city, however, with growth, the 2000s saw the development of the area to include a greater number of facilities and services for locals. In addition, a number of development sites for the suburb have been planned and are beginning construction.
Real Estate and Design:
Bellbowrie offers a wide array of housing for locals. The styles vary from updated Queenslander colonials to more modern brick and tile low and high-set homes throughout the neighborhoods. A decent number of the homes in the area are also attached to larger plots of land, lending Bellbowrie to be an excellent suburb for retirees and families. Recent years have also seen the development of specific subdivisions into residential neighborhoods.

The Moggill Ferry can provide direct access to Moggill Road, the main thoroughfare of the area, which connects to Brisbane with trips of about 45 minutes. The Brisbane transit system also supports the 444 Moggill Buz to transport locals betweenthe CBD and Bellbowrie.
Famous Landmarks:
Bellbowrie has a number of historic sites and points of interest. These include several aboriginal sites throughout the area, a number of the churches, most of which were originally erected in the late 1800s and the Moggill Road, built upon an Aboriginal tracking path. In addition, the Moggill Cemetery is the site of the resting ground of a number of the original settlers to the area.

Bellbowrie is home to a wide variety of fantastic restaurants, providing a number of cuisines, including Italian, Indian, Chinese and Thai. A number of the surrounding suburbs also have a number of fantastic restaurants that must be tried. Bellbowrie is also home to a number of delectable treats and drinks in its bakeries and cafés.

The Bellbowrie region is serviced by two schools, the Moggil State and Pullenvale State primary schools.
